The unearthing of a crashed flying disk was witnessed by the high priest, Siptah, three thousand years ago, leading to the discovery of an alien woman who later became an Egyptian queen and an unfortunate murder victim. Fast forward to the 21st century where England-based George Drake, who quits his job as an insurance broker for an extended vacation in Egypt, stumbles on the possible location of Horemosis’s tomb with the help of his great-aunt's map and Sherifa, a beautiful hieroglyphics expert. Unfortunately, a museum curator who crosses Drake's path happens to be a deceitful smuggler with a devious plan. Pursued by desperate killers and terrorists, George and Sherifa race to unearth what could be the discovery of the century. KV66: Siptah's Legacy by Kenneth Maw immerses readers in a fast-paced, danger-fraught quest for the discovery of a lost tomb.
Prepare for a highly captivating adventure with as much appeal as popular adventure projects like Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones. Kenneth Maw's characters are so vividly described that I could feel their presence. I still shudder when I picture the villains—including the thug with a pockmarked face, which also bore scars from several knife fights. Archaeology enthusiasts will appreciate the elaborate details of the tools used in digging for answers—like the twenty-six-millimeter sectional drill pipe. The story itself is a balanced mix of an intriguing unfolding of events, well-developed characters, and elaborate cultural details. The major themes portrayed include romance, sci-fi, diving, and archaeology. You will need a strong stomach to get through KV66: Siptah's Legacy. If the gunshots and close calls with explosions don't frighten you, the tiger sharks and the Egyptian cobras sure will!
