Legacy - Episode I: The Search for Love by Robert Maxxim is more than just a romance in a science fiction setting. Sarge was already in trouble, but that became unnecessary when he discovers Martian ruins and the essence of an intelligent civilization. Before he knows it, Sarge is living with Martians and forming a relationship with a stunning Martian woman who is his one true love and soul mate. She is his companion in his every life. However, things are not that simple. As Sarge falls more in love, his past comes back to haunt and taunt him. Sometimes, secrets are meant to be kept secret. What happens when you uncover them? Sarge may not be ready to face all the secrets that were withheld from him for a reason.

Somehow, Robert Maxxim is successful at mixing science fiction, romance, reincarnation, and spirituality. It shouldn’t work, it shouldn’t make sense, but the author is a master storyteller who makes it work together incredibly well. The narrative becomes a little philosophical at times (which may not be every reader’s cup of tea), but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don’t particularly enjoy novels written in the first-person narrative, but this is a happy exception. The concept of the story is great and executed perfectly. Author Robert Maxxim gives us a colorful collection of characters, and all play an immense role in furthering the story. Legacy - Episode I: The Search for Love is not one of those stories you read in a single sitting. You need to sit down with a cup of tea and savor every single word. Fantastic!

Legacy, Episode I: The Search for Love is a work of fiction in the science fiction, interpersonal drama, and romance sub-genres, and was penned by author Robert Maxxim. The work is intended for the general adult reading audience and is the opening to an epic romantic saga series. The central plot follows our main character through what appears to be his first meeting with a Martian woman with whom he falls in love, but events and conflicts surrounding the pair soon change the course of both their lives and the wider universe forever. What results is a very engrossing and thought-provoking tale that is sure to keep readers turning pages from cover to cover.

Author Robert Maxxim has crafted an emotive and romantic work of fiction with plenty of emotional moments, tearjerkers, and fantastic action sequences to offer readers. One of the features which I found particularly impressive about this piece was how grounded the author’s own ideas and experiences are in the work, with the clearly stated spiritual undertones and the overwhelming message of love which the book contains. The prose is lyrical and romantic, conjuring up gorgeous images, atmosphere, and emphatic statements that stay with you long after you finish any single chapter. Whilst it is also initially prose-heavy, the pacing and worldbuilding provide a great build-up to the later action and romantic sequences. Overall, I would highly recommend Legacy Episode I: The Search for Love to fans of powerful romance stories, immersive science fiction, and for anyone looking for a brilliant new series to embark on.

Legacy Episode I: The Search for Love by Robert Maxxim begins with an intriguing opening that might strike you as New Age. But give him a chance because his revelations about witnessing real events in distant lands and foreign worlds that are far different from ours have a huge bearing on this novel’s plot. After hearing him out on his belief systems, the author proceeds to the narrative of his novel taking place in the year 2058. It centers on a military geologist called Sarge working on Mars. The political climate on Earth continues to spawn civil unrest as everyone is preoccupied with the neurotic notion of a Martian apocalypse. Sarge stumbles upon a Martian civilization where he meets a female Martian who is fated to become his love. His friendship with the Martians behooves a change in him that will make him trace his deeds in the past.

Robert Maxxim’s training in music reflects in the lyrical quality of his prose. Its good sense of composition makes it an astonishing novel that crosses science, philosophy, and spirituality. He manages to subtly inject his core beliefs within the appropriate time and situations in the storyline, thus making it flow with the narrative and it doesn’t feel forced. Graphic illustrations and diagrams add credibility to Maxxim’s visions so you are convinced that he is committed to the idea of the true science of life infused with mystical strains. The only caveat I will give is that you need to give yourself time to process these complex ideas because they can prove to be overwhelming. Legacy is written by a storyteller with the mash-up sensibility of a dreamer, scientist, philosopher, and romantic. This story makes for great reading. But be sure you have enough of a grasp on the concepts presented here or you might decide to discontinue reading.

Robert Maxxim's science fiction story Legacy Episode I: The Search For Love takes place in the future. Told in a first-person narrative, the main character sets the stage for the state of mind in which readers should approach the entire story in the first chapter. He quotes passages from the Bible but refers to God as “Majesty” throughout the book. The description of the environment, space suits, and physical appearances of the supporting characters are so detailed that little is left to the imagination. However, when it comes to the narrator's identity, he changes names and forms throughout the entire story from reincarnation. Having no faith in God, his story unfolds on the planets of Mars and Earth. The narrator valiantly fights, and in several instances perishes. Then he is reincarnated as another person while retaining some memories in his subconscious. As he changes identity throughout the story, he begins to become aware of someone watching him. He begins his quest in self-discovery.

I found this particular science fiction story to resemble the Book of Revelation in the Bible. Robert Maxxim eloquently described the emotion of love's purity in Legacy Episode 1: The Search For Love. As the depth of the book is explored, I watched the full evolution of mankind from selfish conquerors to accepting beings embracing one another as equals, despite race/species. This is not a story to take at face value; every chapter exposes people's fears and sins without God. I liked watching the narrator's personal growth as he drew closer to God. The pace of the story is slow, but this is effective in portraying the development of each character. Interestingly, the viewpoint of the narrator and his adversaries shift from male to female, warrior to scientist, peasant to leader of nations. There is a major lesson to learn from this book and the journey to understanding the full weight of it is imperative. I recommend this book to anyone that likes science fiction. There is some mild violence but nothing overly graphic, and the description of love is never explicit. This beautiful story isn't a quick read, but I did find myself looking at the world we are in today and seeing the social issues we need to overcome.
