A murder disturbs a new renovation in the sensational sleuth mystery, Lethal Flip (A Home Renovator Mystery) M. E. Bakos. Katelyn is a Home Rehab Specialist. She buys homes, renovates them, and then, in a perfect world, sells them for a profit. However, getting them into shape can be a challenge when you have to deal with ghosts, delinquent contractors, wild weather, and murder. As she approaches her newest renovation, Katelyn discovers a woman was found dead across the street. As she stands with the neighbors watching the paramedics bring out the body, Katelyn listens to the husband talking to the police, and her interest is piqued. Never able to resist the allure of a crime scene, Katelyn starts snooping into the deceased woman and her husband's background. Despite the sheriff's warning to back off, Katelyn continues nosing around in the widower's life and home. However, someone else besides the sheriff is unhappy with her stickybeak and shows their malcontent by leaving a dead rat in a shoebox as a message to back off. Shaken but undeterred, Katelyn is determined to unmask the killer so she can sell her house with a clean neighborhood record. But can she do it before she becomes the next victim? Or is it already too late?

Lethal Flip (A Home Renovator Mystery) M. E. Bakos is a delightful amateur sleuth mystery. With a captivating storyline, engaging characters, and a fascinating plot, it is a compelling murder mystery. The plot's intriguing twists and turns make it an exciting page-turner, and I didn't put the book down until I came to the smashing conclusion. The protagonist, with her curiosity and clumsiness, is relatable and quite likable. Fans of amateur sleuths and cozy mysteries will enjoy this entertaining murder mystery. It is the third book in the series, and it does very well as a stand-alone. The few references to the previous stories add clarity to the plot and left me with a desire to read the rest of the series.
