Author Biography

Paul Turk grew up in Utica, New York. He moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1977 to attend Stetson Law School. Paul was a trial lawyer in West Palm Beach for thirty years until he changed careers in 2009 at the age of fifty-four to pursue a long time ambition of writing fictional legal novels with Christian themes.

Paul is the author of three novels referred to as "The Taylor Series." The books follow the lives of John Taylor, a Palm Beach attorney, and his wife Anna, an elementary school teacher. The first book, "Faith Beyond The Trials," involves a felony DUI case, as well as civil litigation surrounding the DUI. The second novel is entitled, "Trials of Hope." The legal plot concerns a high stakes will contest between two wealthy siblings who are acrimonious rivals. In the third book, "Love on Trial" John Taylor has taken on a divorce case where custody of three young children is the central issue. In the novel, the Taylors' have the opportunity to make a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land with the clergyman who has been a source of hope and inspiration to them. It is a journey which will forever change the Taylors' lives.

Paul's fourth novel is a spin off from "The Taylor Series." It is entitled, "Life's Choices." In the book, Carlos Delgado, an ex-inmate from a state prison, is charged with a serious crime. If convicted, Delgado faces a lengthy return to the prison environment he detests. While Delgado battles in the courtroom for his freedom, eighteen-year-old Lourdes Castillo faces her own crisis. When Lourdes finds out she is pregnant, she is confronted with a monumental life-and-death decision regarding the unborn child's fate.

On Sept. 1, 2015, the novel received a Readers' Favorite 2015 International Book Award - Honorable Mention - for Best Christian Fiction. Previously, Life's Choices received two Honorable Mention awards for Best Spiritual Fiction from the Hollywood Book Festival and the San Francisco Book Festival, and a Runner-Up Award from the Paris Book
Festival for Best Spiritual Fiction.

The novels written by Paul focus on faith, hope, love, life and law. They are intended to be both inspirational and legal thrillers.

Paul lives in the West Palm Beach area of Florida with his wife Katherine. They have been married for forty one years and have three children and two grandchildren.

Life's Choices by Paul Turk conveys the reality of hard decisions. Carlos is an ex-con who finds himself in a precarious situation which could send him back to prison. Lourdes is young, fresh out of high school, and has her whole life in front of her. Life throws her a curve ball when she discovers that she is pregnant. Both Carlos' and Lourdes' lives are touched by Robert and Coral Williams. Robert is an ex-con who has devoted himself to helping others, especially those incarcerated. He is very serious about doing the Lord’s business. Both Robert and Coral believe in the power of prayer. When Carlos finds himself in trouble, he reaches out to Robert. Robert believes Carlos is innocent and goes the extra mile for his friend. Meanwhile, Coral becomes personally involved in the prevention of abortion volunteering at a pro choice clinic. When praying outside an abortion clinic, Coral encounters Lourdes and her sister Lydia. From that moment on a bond is forged, and God begins to move in incredible ways.

The choices we make dictate the life we lead. Often our life choices are not ours alone to bear. Many times the decisions we make touch, mold and directly affect someone else’s life. We find evidence of this truth in Paul Turk’s, Life's Choices. Mr. Turk weaves together two separate stories within this narrative. The characters intersect, allowing the stories to coincide with each other. The characters are sincere, loving, devoted, but not perfect. I really appreciated the portrayal of different denominations working together for the common good. Very refreshing! Turk keeps true to the theme - all of us make mistakes, life is full of difficult choices, but with God’s help we can get through it all. But even more so is the correlation of life over death and adoption over abortion. Jesus conquered death. By making Christ your Savior, you choose life. By doing so, you become adopted into the family of God and are no longer aborted to the world.

This is a work by a man who clearly has a love for life and for law. Paul Turk weaves stories of people who are faced with hard decisions. One story is of a Christian husband and wife who bring their faith into their daily lives - the wife through her work at a crisis pregnancy center and the husband through his career as a lawyer. The other story is of a man who has made mistakes in the past and paid for them through prison time, and has now turned his life over to Christ, but finds himself in a situation where he is falsely accused of a crime. It is about time that we integrate into our media the very real work that goes on throughout America by people who gladly make the sacrifice of time and money to help women in crisis pregnancy. Bravo!

I've read and love all of Paul Turk's books. They are all entertaining as well as inspiring but Life Choices is my favorite because one of the stories involves a subject dear to my heart. A young unmarried women is faced with an unplanned pregnancy and chooses life. Paul Turk describes how she's helped by a pregnancy crisis center and people of faith.

Paul is an excellent author, his books are intriguing, leaving you on the edge of your seat, wanting to finish the page, chapter, book... in order to find out what happens. I highly recommend all his books, just enjoyed them all.

Life Choices

This was a great book . I had to stay up and finish it in one night . I would definitely recommend it and all of the books that follow . Can't wait to see what he does next

I read lots of books. It is a refreshing change to read a book with a clear cut positive message. Life is precious. In our dysfunctional society a whale is more important than a baby. We have upscale pet supermarkets and next door there might be a Planned Parenthood selling baby parts like dog food. The author I know takes his commitment to his writing seriously. I have been in Jail with him ministering to inmates, some who never get visitors or letters from family. This book "LIFE'S CHOICES' would make a great Christmas gift.

Again, Mr. Turk provides an in-depth description of the law and how it surrounds real life situations. This issue is timely as it accurately reflects intense pro-life challenges. His view of the day-to-day disasters at abortion clinics brings national news to reality. This is an inspirational read...needed in today's fractured world.

I read Paul Turk's book Life Choices. That book was much about babies being aborted. This book, Life Choices, made me think about women who were pregnant. Paul Turk's book was excellent and I hoped many other pregnant women would read this book because this book would give women who are pregnant to not have abortion, but to have their babies and give them to parents who are waiting. I have every book Paul Turk has written and all were wonderful. Life's Choices is definitely one book that pregnant mothers must read.

This latest book from Paul Turk is my favorite to date. I judge a book as good if it makes you think, turn inward or ponder as well as inform, but a book is great if at the same time it is entertaining. This book accomplishes all of these. Thank you Paul for making me think and informing me of a world I knew little about.

The book is very well written with passion and courage. The plot is exciting, and the morality is refreshing. Thank you, Paul.

Having been involved in the pro-life movement since the mid-70's, and having seen so many women being coerced by ex-boyfriends and others into aborting their babies, I was touched by the outcome in Paul Turk's book, Life's Choices. Turk takes the experiences of ex-con Carlos Delgado,of a prison ministry group, of two sisters walking into an abortion clinic, of a sidewalk counselor, and of rivaling lawyers battling it out in a courtroom, and he weaves the stories together into a novel of self-discovery and redemption. The outcome is splendidly crafted. I highly recommend Paul Turk's book, Life's Choices!

Life's Choices

Paul has become a very good story teller. The comparrisons on the story of DEATH in prison life and finding answers to tough questions and the young women battling the choice of abortion is so amazing. People need the correct and true information to make the right choice. Paul hits a home run here. You will want to read all of his books. Good reading!!!

Paul Turk is a passionate man and all of his books display his innermost desire to please God in his daily life by writing Christian books that show how the Hand of God works in times of life that only God can make right! Life's Choices weaves themes of choice, consequence and conflict through the lives of two characters: Carlos Delgado whom I came to know in the Taylor Series and Lourdes fresh out of high school facing an unplanned pregnancy! If you haven't read Paul's writing, do it now! You won't be disappointed.

Life's Choices is a must read and the perfect gift to give for any occasion.
I have read some wonderful, good, inspiring and faith based books but this truly is the best. This book is what our country needs. Paul is a Man of God, Leader, Catholic Pro-Lifer, Lawyer, Author, Role Model for Families, Marriages, Ministries, & goes above and beyond for everyone near and far. Paul's love for God and life shines through in all his work.
Life's Choices and all the books by Paul Turk are excellent.
All the Very Best,
Janeen

I totally recommend this book for anyone wanting to read about people who allow the Lord to help them work through their most difficult issues. Paul has a passion for advocating that course, and clearly derives his inspiration from the Word. Paul's presentation easily made me care about the protagonists, and I was eager to turn the pages to get to the conclusion of each of their stories. Bravo!
