Little Bits of Karma by Laura Simmons is the story of Holly and how she rediscovers herself by discovering her past lives. Holly O’Rourke is a 45-year-old woman. After two bad marriages, she gave her heart to James. They had been in a relationship for eleven years. Everything was great for the first nine years, but for the past two years, things have been strained between them. James is pulling away from her and she has no idea why. Her life takes a confused turn when she meets a co-worker who intrigues her.

Charlie is someone who makes her question everything about her relationship with James. To get answers, she consults a psychic who helps her find a direction for the future through her past lives. This experience helps her find a direction, but it also shows her past relationships with men all the way back to the City of Atlantis. Is her past supposed to help her or confuse her more? Who is she destined to live forever with; James or Charlie?

First of all, I appreciate the author writing about people who are middle aged and older. Usually, writers concentrate on characters who are in their mid to late 20s. Laura gets extra brownie points for that. I liked the reincarnation aspect of the novel and I liked the way things worked out in the end. It got a little confusing at times, but that is not a major issue. I enjoyed reading it and I wouldn’t say no to reading about a couple of Holly’s past lives either. A great read.
