Author Biography

Michaela Hackman is a native of Latrobe, Pennsylvania and currently resides in South Carolina, no longer in a state of slumber. Her dream when she was 10 years old was to travel the world to take pictures and write stories. Long ago she put down the pen, picking it up many years later with the compassion and grace of a woman who has seen the world, both the good and the bad. Her poetry symbolizes the search for being true to one's self and to stop living in a state of slumber. Her children's books are inspired by the children in her life and by the fun of seeing the world through their eyes.

Know that you are not alone; there are others that could be in your shoes. Take some time to heal; love conquers all.

As I read poems such as Yes, Joyful, Each Morning and Years Ago, I was able to feel the pain, loss, uncertainty and questioning of the elements of life and its existence. Love Along The Way helps to give a face, a presence and a reality to the emotions that we all feel and live. Life is sacred and nothing can penetrate the heart like words. From Shakespeare to Maya Angelou, words in poetry have helped to speak the language of expression. In the form of poetry, the poet is able to establish a connection with their poetic messages.
