Hillwood Sonsett narrates this poignant tale of a group of men from "L" Company 3rd Battalion 34th regiment after World War II ends and their horrific fighting in the Pacific is over. Those men, Hill Sonsett, Sid Goldman, Ranger Joe, Robert Holiday, Max Cavelli, Jerome "Dance" Daley, and John Donovan all go back home and resume or begin their lives again. Some of them make money, some start companies, others live adventurously or go into politics, but together they form a company...Love Company, named after their infantry division...into which they all give money that will go to different charities. How each of these men live in those after-war years and what they become will stay with the reader once they've finished reading Love Company, a truly memorable read that covers both sad and happy times in the men's lives.

Love Company is well written and well edited, making it a highly readable and enjoyable book. Reading about each of the featured men will be a memorable experience, but it needs an index as the reader will want to refer to chapters on the different men and how they lived their lives. Readers of all ages will be drawn to this book and the lives it details, for as it begins, the men are young and total "hellions." Young readers, for whom World War II is strictly history, will be fascinated to know that men, now bent and aged, were once young and rambunctious. This will be a solid addition to library collections everywhere.
