Love Thy Sister (Mina’s Adventures) by Maria Grazie Swan is a story of blood being thicker than water, of betrayal, and a journey of self-discovery. Mina arrives in America to live with her sister, Paola, and her husband, following the death of their mother in Italy. Paola and her husband Michael run their own software business and live a life many could only dream of. But, it is apparent that all is not happy in their marriage. Following a death at their business premises, a death that at first seemed like an accident but was soon proven to be murder, everything seems to go wrong. Paola suspects her husband of being unfaithful and of stealing from the company and tells him she wants a divorce. Their company is staffed by what turn out to be illegal immigrants and software disks are slowly being stolen. Mina meets a private detective who was working for her sister and gets involved in trying to solve the mystery by herself. Things take a tragic turn when Paola dies and from there everything unravels. Will Mina solve the mystery of the deaths? What will she learn along the way? Can she come out of this unscathed?
Love Thy Sister by Maria Grazie Swan is one of those definite edge-of-the-seat page-turners. I was hooked from the word go and simply couldn’t put it down. I found it to be skilfully written, full of twists and turns that you just didn’t expect. It’s action all the way and a fantastically written novel. Can’t wait to read the next installment!
