Love's Fierce Embrace by Julia Rush revolves around the romance of Stephen Alexander Warfield, whom London society calls ‘an immutable bachelor,’ and Melina Pouliot, a young beauty who is dumped at his place when his injured horse leaves him stranded on the isle of Dunnburgh Castle. He is drawn to Melina’s angelic beauty and her unconscious movements have a strange effect on him, making him wonder to whom she belongs. Melina is equally attracted to Stephen’s charm, but finds him annoying because he turns protective and does not allow her to leave his side. Stephen takes the stubborn Melina into his world, tries to find out what events left her there, and tries to protect her, despite her unwillingness to cooperate with him. Will Stephen be able to work his way into Melina’s heart? Will Melina be able to wipe away Stephen’s years of loneliness?

The author has blended romance and passion into the plot, making it an entertaining novel. The main characters, Stephen and Melina, and their romance have been portrayed well and their attraction and love for each other, despite their individual natures, is tangible and readers will be able to connect well with it. The supporting characters have also been sketched well, making them memorable. The story has been narrated in detail, giving vivid descriptions of the scenes and characters, and making it come alive for readers. The story has passion, intensity, and the love between Stephen and Melina is a good blend of gentleness, hostility, and fierceness, making it an engaging read.

Love’s Fierce Embrace by Julia Rush is a romantic tale. The Duke of Northington is one of life’s bachelors, at least that is what society says about him. But when Stephen Warfield’s horse abandons him at a lonely empty keep, things change. He doesn’t want company, but when an unconscious woman is dumped at his feet, he has little choice but to get involved. Melina Pouliot has other ideas, though. Determined to get back to Malta where her grandmother is, she wants nothing to do with the stranger who is throwing ultimatums at her. Before she can go, she is swept up into the duke’s world as he struggles to find out who left her for dead and why. Obsessed with Melina, the duke finds himself falling for her charms and capturing her heart in turn.

Love’s Fierce Embrace by Julia Rush was very similar to a historical romance and a very good read. The story line was strong, very solid, and flowed naturally, pulling me in and taking me along for the ride. The characters were incredibly well developed and were both likable and believable. To me, that is an important part of any book and if an author can write their characters well, they are halfway there. There was plenty going on in the story, enough to keep my attention and keep me reading all the way to the end. Overall, a good read and recommended for anyone who likes romance stories.

Love's Fierce Embrace by Julia Rush is an unusual love story between two unique individuals. Stephen Alexander, Duke of Northington, is an enigmatic ladies' man who is hounded by a dark family secret. Melina Pouliot, on the other hand, is a young and beautiful girl from Malta who grows up with her grandmother, thinking she is an orphan. Their paths cross when Melina is summoned by an aunt to Chittingham, England, and she ends up unconscious in Dunburgh Castle in a bizarre and sinister twist of events. What follows is a a series of events that pit the two together in a test of wills where they find themselves hopelessly intertwined together. Stephen unravels the secret of Melina's past and feels duty bound to protect her but Melina tries to resist the secretive Duke of Northington.

Love's Fierce Embrace, as the title suggests, is a kind of love story that is certainly not made in heaven. As we get to know the main protagonists of the story, it seems like there is a lot more that we have to find out about both of them. And author Julia Rush has a way with words that makes her novel one of those books that is simply difficult to put down. The dashing duke and his beautiful unwanted guest find themselves alone in Dunburgh Castle and their fate, it seems is sealed. You see, this is a time when young woman's reputation can easily be spoiled by mere suspicions of an act of impropriety. But there is a lot more to the story and it is the unraveling of these mysteries that makes Love's Fierce Embrace such a great read!

Love’s Fierce Embrace by Julia Rush is a romance novel that will indeed give you a rush. The setting is the English countryside in the early 1800s. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that this is a completely different world with completely different mores and expectations between women and men. Sometimes the values of this period are unfair, especially to women. It is a great period for romance and Julia Rush perfectly captures the mood of the time and the complications involved when two headstrong people meet and begin to fall in love. Rich in detail and the delicate back and forth interaction that makes real romance spicy, Love’s Fierce Embrace reminded me of some of the classics like Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre that I read in high school so long ago.

Stephen Alexander Warfield is a complicated man who usually will not brook any nonsense, but his world turns upside down when the beautiful but innocent Melina Pouliat is brought unconscious to his front door. He is a good man, but his apparent aloofness makes that hard for people to see, especially Melina. The tension caused by misunderstanding each other drives them crazy until it becomes a powerful love. Great characters and a very devious and dangerous villain make Love’s Fierce Embrace a must-read for fans of romance and fans of this period. The plot is excellent. The portrayal of the classes and people of that time is excellent. Romance fans will not be disappointed. Love’s Fierce Embrace may help bring this type of period novel back in popularity.
