Megumi & Kukana Friends Forever is a cute children's picture book written by Kristi Shimada and Illustrated by Eko Setiawan. The story follows the unique friendship between Megumi, a Japanese girl, and Kukana, a Hawaiian girl. Megumi and her family recently moved to Hawaii, and it is here that she meets her new best friend, Kukana. The two hit it off immediately, and they start sharing information about each other. They talk about their hobbies and birthdays. Kukana loves to dance, and Megumi enjoys writing and drawing. Megumi teaches Kukana how to make origami, and Kukana teaches her how to write poems. Follow Megumi and Kukana as they bond and become best friends forever.

The world is a fascinating place. Japan and Hawaii are both islands in the Pacific Ocean, yet their cultures and lifestyles are completely different. Megumi & Kukana Friends Forever is a testament to the endearing power of friendship. Kukana welcomes Megumi to the island as if they have known each other for ages, and the two share great chemistry and complement each other. Kristi Shimada creatively blends the Hawaiian and Japanese cultures by presenting them as Megumi and Kukana's hobbies. The illustrations are bright and eye-catching, which is ideal for toddlers. Megumi and Kukana are both adorable in their floral dresses, and the images perfectly capture the natural beauty of Hawaii. The story has the potential to become a book series or a children's sitcom because of its interesting premise. I recommend you read this book with your children and learn about true friendship.
