When homicide detectives Paige Hanson and Carlos Sanchez found a warehouse with five bodies that had been tortured within an inch of their existence, they knew this would be a difficult case to solve. But when one of those bodies turned out to be still alive, they could see a spark of hope. With hard work and team effort, they come across a link to a very dangerous man who might be a little too much for them to handle alone. However, things look up when they meet Chase, a man with unusual talents who can turn this case around and help bring the dead people some justice. But can this team of unlikely members do it?

The author does a great job in merging two time lines into one and making a brilliant story out of it. Memories of Blood by C.R. Alvarez is a thrilling murder mystery that had me on the edge of my seat and wanting more and more. The characters were brilliant, the development was great and the flow of the story was even better. There was never a point in the novel where I felt like I was missing something or something didn’t add up. What’s more amazing is that I could not guess how the story would end and what the actions of the characters would be.

What more can I say about this brilliant novel? The fast pace made sure that I was not bored or wanted to skip ahead. I wanted to devour every single word and not miss anything at all. The narration was strong, the dialogues were brilliant and the flow of the story never faltered. I enjoyed the chemistry between Carlos, Paige and Chase, and loved the fact they brought something new and strong to their team. No one among them was the rookie who made things difficult for the others, and all of them worked together as a team to make it happen for each other. Brilliant!
