Author Biography

The illustrated fun, Action-Adventure and Schi-Fi novel for middle grade readers is based on the ground-breaking, eco-intelligent and climate-smart Cradle to Cradle (C2C) school of thought at the heart of the global circular economy, and the life of C2C co-founder and world-renowned chemist Michael Braungart. I was inspired to produce this novel together with artists from around the globe, as C2C aims at empowering all members of society to produce MORE GOOD, i.e., positive effects for people and planet. The novel contains an illustrated 2nd part with background information on C2C and sheet music to the novel's Theme Song.

Michael & Mia: An Adventure in the Positive Cycle of Nature by Georg Hohbach and Ehrengard Hohbach is one of the most inspirational and imaginative books for children that I have ever had the privilege of reading. The main characters, Michael and Mia, go on an adventure that is awe-inspiring and they take along their teacher Mrs. Friday and their whole class. The descriptions are wonderful and anyone who can draw would be able to paint beautiful pictures. The authors have dedicated the inspiration of this wonderful tale about nature to Michael Braungart, a chemistry professor who motivates a nation of children to try to improve the way we do things and get us to reduce the waste we make that is not reusable.

Michael & Mia by Georg Hohbach and Ehrengard Hohbach catches the attention of the reader, no matter what their age, from the first to the last page. The drawings are delightful but I would have loved to have seen a few more, especially the one inside the anthill. For two authors to have such wonderful childlike imaginations to be able to write like this is inspiring and a joy to read. Thank you for taking me into a wonderful world of make-believe with a touch of reality. It was an adventure that will stay with me for a long time as well as the beautiful and unusual ending. I loved the grumpy robot with the plastic bag as a catching net.

Michael & Mia: An Adventure in the Positive Cycle of Nature by Georg Hohbach and Ehrengard Hohbach is an action-packed story filled with fantastical magic and tinged with sweet teen romance that is sure to have young readers hanging on to their seats until the very end. Based on the life and teachings of renowned chemist Michael Braungart, Michael and Mia introduces the concept of the cycles of nature in which nothing goes to waste and suggests how this concept can be applied in the technosphere as well. Several illustrations and a song add to the reader’s enjoyment. A biography and discussion of Braungart’s “cradle-to-cradle” concept and Albert Einstein’s findings on symmetry and oneness in nature are included as well as suggestions for further reading.

In Michael & Mia: An Adventure in the Positive Cycle of Nature, Georg Hohbach and Ehrengard Hohbach give us an utterly imaginative blend of science and fiction. From the first day that Michael is paired with new classmate Mia on a high school English project about the “Balance of Nature,” the magic surrounding these two charming characters grows to levels that are out of this world and both macro and micro in scale. The two even face potentially life-threatening danger, but their friendship and courage only strengthen with each challenge. Will their adventures lead them to discover the real magic that the balance of Nature can teach us? And how can they spread this idea to the rest of the world? This is an absolutely wonderful story that both entertains and educates.

Treat yourself to a fascinating sci-fi adventure while learning creative ways to steer the planet toward a better future with Michael and Mia by George Hohbach and Ehrengard Hohbach. Michael's English class with Mrs. Friday becomes a shade brighter when new student Mia Chang joins the class. Mia had recently moved from Beijing, China, with her family to California, and soon after meeting Michael, the two youngsters notice that magical events start happening when they are together. Chased by a rogue robot while moving through space, time, and alternate dimensions, Michael and Mia learn some inventive ideas about nature. For example, they learn how food and waste are inseparably connected and witness how the realm of nature and the world of technology can be unified as a constructive whole.

George Hohbach and Ehrengard Hohbach have penned another innovative concept book for kids and young adults to help them learn the importance of waste management and the preservation of resources to make one's environment an eco-friendly place. Like their other books, Michael and Mia also contains the highly influential Cradle to Cradle (C2C) design concept principles co-founded by Michael Braungart that works toward a climate-smart world. With an experimental narrative structure that often requires readers to use their imaginations, the authors encourage readers to engage and develop their own critical thinking skills while learning useful tools that are becoming more relevant as the days go by. Michael and Mia are characters that kids will find easy to relate to. An educational book that sci-fi adventure lovers will relish.
