Mister Pushkin Breaks the Ice: 12 Wintery Tales by AC Michael is the third book in the Tales of Mister Pushkin series. Winter has come along with a slew of new adventures in twelve exciting tales that are humorous, heartfelt, and fun. These stories center on winter and Christmas-themed situations which include arguing over what to have for dinner, caroling, snowmen, frozen lakes, climbing Christmas trees, and a wedding. Mister Pushkin Sings for his Supper finds carollers descending upon their home, which pushes the lovable feline into action - to sing loudly and drive them away. Mister Pushkin Skates on Thin Ice finds the cat chasing after a bird until he lands upon a frozen lake. Then it’s time for a wedding in Mister Pushkin Walks down the Aisle when Cedric and Ruth’s impending marriage gets all the attention. These are just a couple of the charming stories within the wintery collection with several other antics and surprises in store!

This is a fun collection set during winter with plenty of mischief and antics that this lovable duo seems to find themselves in with Mister Pushkin, as always, seeming to know more than Klem. The character of Foxy is a fun addition to the world of Mister Pushkin, setting up the inclusion of a chicken chase that ends in salmon for Christmas dinner. The writing is clever and witty with the same whimsical tone and lighthearted humor that bring Mister Pushkin to life. AC Michael touches upon various winter and holiday activities which are used for humor and charming settings. Each story is fun and light with a different antic that makes you love Mister Pushkin more and more. The language continues to be strong with phrases that capture the personality of this cat such as sitting like a sphinx, spinning like a whirligig, and a character sounding more porcine than vulpine. Mister Pushkin Breaks the Ice is another delightful collection of tales by AC Michael that find this lovable feline scrabbling on ice, celebrating Christmas, and fending off carollers.
