More Than Mom by Shakira A. Wright is an impactful, faith-based self-help guide that contains wise advice about navigating motherhood. When Wright decided to leave her career and become a stay-at-home mom, her decision was met with skepticism by family, friends, and work colleagues. Despite the challenges she encountered along the way, ultimately, her decision proved rewarding. This work asserts that all women should be valued in the same way regardless of the course they take in life. It also encourages mothers to commit to the vision they have set for themselves. It offers insight into many aspects of motherhood including finances, faith, personal growth, friendships, marriage, and self-image. It also contains useful advice on handling unforeseen challenges throughout motherhood.

More Than Mom by Shakira A. Wright is a wonderful companion for any mother feeling alone in her maternal journey. Not only does it inspire courage to make individual decisions that serve the mother and her family, but it also shows how challenges can be tackled. I loved how specific the book is in discussing particular issues relating to motherhood and how it offers practical solutions for handling each challenge. The content aptly examines many elements of motherhood that are often overlooked by the rest of society, hence, it will resonate with all mothers regardless of their stage in the journey. Shakira A. Wright’s More Than Mom is a realistic, uplifting motherhood guide that contains useful tips and tools for handling challenges that mothers face. It is comprehensive in its approach and is applicable to first-time and seasoned mothers.
