Matthew Jackson has been working for years to have enough money to come back home to Cades Cove in the beautiful Smoky Mountains. His mom moved their family away after his father was killed. With his mom and sister now gone, and after several years of doing things Matthew is not proud of, he is finally ready to settle down in his hometown. But will those still living in Cades Cove still accept him back, especially with the circumstances around why the family left. A lot of Rani’s friends had left Cades Cove, but she had no plans to leave, because she loved her small community. Rani's life changed when Matthew Jackson shows up at their door, and her family seems excited to see this man she has never met before. That is until he walks up on her while she is out walking earlier in the day.

I really enjoyed this wonderful and heartwarming story set in the Cades Cove area of the Smoky Mountains. I have been to that area many times and enjoyed the vivid descriptions of the area as well as the people and their lifestyle. The characters are well-developed and they steal their way into the hearts of readers. My heart went out to Matthew and the difficulties he was having because of the past. And I appreciate the way Ms. Robbins shows God’s love and forgiveness in the lives of the characters. And she does it in a pleasant and heartwarming way. If you are looking for a light, enjoyable read, I highly recommend "Mountain Homecoming" for your enjoyment. You will not be disappointed!
