Author Biography

Lisa Jey Davis is a former freelance talent manager for one-hour televised specials with MTV, CBS and other networks and production companies. She is the founder of Jey Associates Marketing & PR, in Los Angeles, California, an award-winning and best-selling author, blogger, vlogger, a Huffington Post and Livestrong.com contributor. She is also a fitness & women’s health professional.

Lisa Jey is known for her best-selling memoir ““Ms. Cheevious in Hollywood – My Zany Years Spent Working in Tinsel Town” which released in February 2015, and details her post-divorce years in Los Angeles navigating a career in television production as well as her new life as a single mom. Another upcoming book, currently titled “Getting Over Your Ovaries: How to Make ‘The Change of Life’ Your BITCH” due 2016, is a witty survival guide for women dealing with hormonal issues and their own life change, or for those on the sidelines witnessing it firsthand (and suffering as a result).

In 2012 Lisa Jey chose to give writing, health and fitness training “first chair” in her professional life. She is an experienced, certified Lagree Method fitness trainer, and a classically trained pilates and yoga instructor. Her eBook, “Ahhhhhh … Haaaaaa Moments with Ms. Cheevious” offers one of the yoga routines she taught at the renowned Aspen Club & Day Spa in Aspen, CO. Her goal was to make Yoga easy and accessible to all, and this book does just that.

In 2011, Lisa Jey was diagnosed with the BRCA2 Genetic Mutation for Breast and Ovarian Cancer (similar to Angelina Jolie’s genetic mutation). Her sister’s seven-year battle with Ovarian Cancer (which took her life) was all the reason she needed to take the most drastic approach to medical wellness: that of a prophylactic double mastectomy and breast reconstruction, as well as an oophorectomy – removal of her ovaries and Fallopian tubes. She has since worked to raise awareness about genetic screenings and breast and ovarian cancer and encouraged others to live a healthy life to the fullest.

Her dynamic presence and internet/media footprint have made her an in-demand guest speaker and commentator on the subject of women’s health (BRCA and women’s cancer topics included) and fitness as well as dating and relationships (among other topics). A gifted speaker and communicator, Lisa fills her message with humorous, real-life anecdotes that relate to both men and women. Her ‘Sex in the City’ meets ‘Lucille-Ball-style’ antics are entertaining and often hilarious, yet filled with intelligent thought and gravity.

As a result of her genetic disposition for breast and ovarian cancer, Lisa Jey is one of the “go-to” authorities on BRCA/ Breast and Ovarian Cancer. Frequently invited to provide her opinions and commentary on related stories (i.e. Angelina Jolie’s choice), she has appeared in the Emmy Award-winning, nationally syndicated television show “The Doctors,” the CW (KTLA), and a variety of news programs and radio shows; she has also been quoted in major newspapers, magazines and online publications. She currently resides in Santa Monica, California.

Ms. Cheevious in Hollywood by Lisa Jey Davis is the memoir of a newly divorced mom and her attempts at making it in Hollywood. It chronicles her shock in finding out that she is an MILF, surprise when her first son wants to move out to his friend’s family, joy at getting hired as a marketing assistant, her putting weight control efforts on a war footing to present a beautiful appearance, and her escapades in nightclubs. How she happened to realize her erotic talents and their value, and the way these led to a changed outlook on life is presented in these pages. In addition, the book also contains her advice, like safety practices for those attempting online dating, and tips to single moms, making it a fascinating manual of contemporary interest.

In Ms. Cheevious in Hollywood by Lisa Jey Davis, there in no holding back. While rubbing shoulders with some of the best names of Hollywood, hobnobbing with the stars of music and entertainment, or when implants are mixed up while she undergoes a boob job, there is no dearth of events and experiences - laughable, titillating and also memorable. A page turner, this book has all the elements to keep us as engrossed as if reading a thriller; it provides ample advice, especially to those who need it the most. Her motto, she says in the book is: “Nothing is gained without our own determination, diligence, focus, personal responsibility and perseverance!”
