Esme has been assigned a new job in Ms. Esme Undercover K-9: And The Missing Bone by L.A. Maldonado. This time her case is downtown and Esme hates going downtown, especially if it is an undercover case. Mr. Thorn thinks only Esme can handle the job and he gives Esme details of the assignment. It's at 53rd Downtown Street where Mr. Golme lives and he has reported his food being stolen from his bowl for the last couple of days. The cops have been unable to solve the case and that is why he has contacted K-9. The case has to be solved by tomorrow. Will Esme be able to do it?

The story is filled with suspense, intrigue, and mystery and will keep young readers glued to the pages to find out how Esme, Maggie, and Sammy are going to solve the case. What makes this mystery unique is that it is written from the perspective of dogs and all dog lovers will enjoy reading this story. The detailed narration makes the scenes vivid and the illustrations give the characters a personality and make the book look appealing.

It is a good bedtime storybook for parents and grandparents to read out to their children and grandchildren. Children will enjoy reading this story during read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries. The characters are well portrayed and they are adorable and memorable. I cannot wait to read more stories about Esme and her team solving more cases at K-9. What about you, children?
