In Murder in Paradise by authors Larry K. and Lorna Collins, we find ourselves in the middle of a murder mystery in one of the most beautiful settings in the world, Hawaii. Our protagonist, Agape Jones, a retired detective from the NYPD, never thought he’d find himself dragged into an investigation when he was supposed to be relaxing and enjoying time far away from the world of crime. But when his outrigger team is the one that finds a body, he’s asked to assist in the murder investigation of the famous surfer Philip Fowler, who was also the son of Hawaii state senator Thomas Fowler. Agape soon realizes he’s investigating much more than a murder, and what he finds might put his very life at risk.

Authors Larry K. and Lorna Collins have done a wonderful job in describing the flora and fauna of Hawaii, and I almost felt I was there with Detective Jones as I was reading along. A fun murder mystery adventure that’s easy to follow and will keep you on the edge of your seat at times, Murder in Paradise would appeal to any reader who loves suspenseful reads, mysteries, or a book so rich in details of the setting that it almost feels like a travelogue at times. It’s my pleasure to recommend Murder in Paradise, and I hope that this married duo of authors is hard at work on their next novel in this same vein.
