My 10 Years In The USA by Francis Ngobounan is the retelling of a man’s life story as he shares the adventures he has had. Francis Ngobounan was just 14 years old when he traveled all the way from a small town in West Africa and came to America with dreams of becoming successful. He didn’t know English, he didn’t know what he was going to do, but he adapted, he struggled, he survived and then he thrived. He took one small step at a time and decided that he was going to live life on his own terms. From being a nobody from West Africa to becoming a world-class chef, Francis shares his story with readers to show that with hard work and resilience you can make your dreams a reality.

The author of this very well-written book is an inspiring person. He not only took a chance on a future that was scary and foreign, but he also had the guts to stand by what he wanted from his life. He didn’t shy away from the hardships in his way and he didn’t stop when the going got tough. I admire him for standing tall and proud in the face of adversity and surviving some very hard years. He actually doesn’t hold back when it comes to sharing the hardest times of his life but also shares the best parts of the 10 years he spent in the USA. His story is an inspiration for the people who struggle hard and feel like giving up on their dreams. My 10 Years In The USA by Francis Ngobounan shows that with perseverance and determination, dreams can come true.
