My Amoretto: Guardian Angel . . . Italian Style by D.C. Cowan is the story of Galatea, set against the backdrop of Rome, Italy. Twenty-year-old Galatea is a pretty girl and she studies art in Rome. While studying about the beauty of Italian art, Galatea also discovers her own charm and slowly changes into a beautiful woman. Things change when her father is mistaken for his ex-con brother and taken away by the police. Though Galatea escapes the cops initially, she is caught and taken back to them. For Galatea, her guardian angel always appears in times of trouble and now all her hope lies in Agostino, the blue-eyed angel whom she had met when she was young. Will Agostino help her find her father and also help her to escape?

The story unfolds beautifully in the exotic locale of Italy and the author has portrayed the character of Galatea to match. The beauty of Italy, Galatea’s charm, her handsome admirers and her guardian angel woven together with the dangers Galatea faces make the book an exhilarating read. All the characters are intriguing and with the twists and turns in the plot, the author pens an engaging love story. But what makes it entertaining is that this is just not the usual love story; the right amount of mystery and intrigue in the plot gives this story of love and romance much needed excitement.
