Author Biography

Sheila VanZile joined the first generation of career women in the ’70s, emerging from their homes gifted with the ability to juggle real careers
and family. She served as a high-level executive, business owner, community volunteer, and gracious hostess, but the truth beneath her seemingly successful and satisfying life was a different story. Dissatisfied, unfulfilled at 60, and having neglected her own needs for decades, Sheila suffered toxic relationships and embarked on a journey that she hopes will spark a deliberate and fruitful search for your style of awakening, too.

My Waterfall of Awakening: How Loss Can Bring You Home to the Life You Want: A Guided Journal is a work of non-fiction concerning women’s issues, social issues, and emotional resilience, and was created by author Sheila VanZile. Exploring issues of grief, loss, self-love, finding new hope, and redesigning one’s life for happiness, the central message of the work explains how the author broke free of the shackles of what was expected of her in life, finding a new way forward. The book also offers an interactive element for readers to record their own reflections, thoughts, and feelings along the way as each issue is explored.

Author Sheila VanZile has created a wonderful work that audiences of all kinds are sure to appreciate and benefit from. I especially thought that the progression of Sheila’s journey was well-arranged and well-paced in the book, never skipping over any issue and giving all emotions their validity and importance. It feels like an inspirational work that gives you room to breathe, permission to reflect and think about yourself and the ties that bind you in life, just as you watch the author free herself from hers. VanZile’s voice is also resonant and filled with character, making you feel very deeply for her in times of trouble, but also adding yet more power to the moments where she overcomes and finds new joy. Overall, I would highly recommend My Waterfall of Awakening to readers seeking a new path in life who would like a strong, hopeful voice to guide them and relate to them on their own journey.
