Niki Turner is a software engineer and gets her dream of landing the big account with Helitronics. Still dealing with the tragedy of losing her family, Niki puts her entire life into her job. Little did she know that she would be working with Kyle Jacobs, who lived his high school days intimidating Niki any way he could and she hated him for it. After his injury in service Kyle Jacobs ends up at Helitronics to work because his work as a pilot is over. How surprised he is to find out that he is assigned to work with Niki Turner! He had plans to meet her again, but not at the office, and surely not working on a job with her. Things could get a bit touchy.

Loving books about second chances, I was excited about reading “Nickels.” It is a heartwarming story about Niki and Kyle who are given a second chance at love. Kyle is willing but can Niki let go and forgive Kyle for the way he treated her in high school?

Karen Baney weaves a wonderful and enjoyable romance with realistic and believable characters you will grow to love as family. “Nickels” is an intriguing story that will capture you in the very first pages and keep you engrossed until the end. I was amazed at the details of computer engineering the author writes into the story. Her knowledge and research is very recognizable in this book, making the story even more real. It is like hearing the details of the job from a real person. This author is really good at telling her story. I encourage you to grab a copy of this contemporary novel to read and enjoy for yourself. You will not be disappointed! Oh, and why the name Nickels? Well, you need to read the book to find out!
