Does your child ever feel left out? Maybe he is an only child and yearns for another sibling to play with? Or, maybe she has other brothers and sisters and feels like she is not given the same amount of attention. This book is about a young girl who is feeling rejected. She has a lot of energy and just wants to have the attention on her. With the help of her sympathetic mother, she learns how she is given attention, and that she doesn't have to be the center of attention all the time to feel loved and cared for.

I especially loved the cute illustrations in this book, done by Aki Fukuoka. They really helped tie the storyline together and keep a young reader's attention. It was also nice to see a book written in easy to understand words to help young children realize that they are loved no matter how much attention they feel they are given. I loved how the mom helped the young girl see things in a different light, and how in the end the young girl sees that she is actually liked and loved by many. What a great story to share with a young child who is feeling insecure and not loved! This would also make a great book to read to a child who is expecting a new sibling and having trouble realizing that things will not change and that she is still loved.
