Observations of the Soul: Poetry of a Nomad by Adam Smith is a collection of poetry based on Adam’s personal and spiritual experiences. Observations of the Soul is quite a short book and the poems are mostly a page or two each in length. Most of the poems in this collection deal with thoughts on life, philosophy, spirituality, some metaphysical musings and subjects, etc. They are written from a subjective point of view and can be read in any order. The book ends with a short introduction to Adam and his website for more information and details.

Observations of the Soul: Poetry of a Nomad by Adam Smith is a short and simple poetry book. I liked the poetry in general and the tone and style come across as straightforward and candid. It did feel like Adam was expressing his own thoughts exactly the way in which he perceived them. Some of the poems I liked in this collection include Indian Prayer, Darkness, Thirteen, Look alike from the past, Mistreated, Generosity, and Light. A few of these read simply as personal musings whereas others are more generic in their viewpoint.

Adam writes in a concise, brief, and simple style. Instead of half hiding the truth in words, he usually puts it out there as his own subjective experience, which is nice to read. This is a book that fans of the poetry genre will enjoy, as well as readers who enjoy delving into philosophical subjects and metaphysical topics of life and death, the universe and the soul, and related topics.
