Author Biography

Adam Gowans is the youngest of five Air Force brats, out of which his siblings have voted him the weirdest. He loves anything that deals with stories, including movies, novels, television dramas, music, video games, manga/manhwa, and webtoons.

In his mid-twenties, he lived and taught English in South Korea for four years before returning to the States to live, like many LDS authors, in Utah.

His first novel is On Angelic Wings, which has a planned sequel, but the sequel will be released after two other novels that are calling for his attention.

One of the biggest mysteries of how the future will look is the question of family. Not only the nuclear family, but the extended family. After all, the family, in one form or another, can be said to be the driving force of human history. In On Angelic Wings, Adam Gowans takes this concept to a new and logical conclusion. It is also an exciting read. I like it a lot. I used to think that families are all upfront and out in the open. Here family is a much larger unit than we are used to thinking of now. It’s more like an extended clan and, for better or worse, the family is as likely to be involved in criminal activity. It reminded me very much of how the Yakuza operates in modern day Japan. When you combine this with science and meta human powers, it makes for one good book.

Adam Gowans writes well. That is what you need to know if you are considering buying On Angelic Wings. He also has some new perspectives on some relatively time-tested ideas. The characters are so real you want to invite them over for lunch one day. I have read stories before where the hardened assassin could not go ahead and honor his contract. But never a situation quite like this. Great characters, careful writing, and a unique plot make On Angelic Wings by Adam Gowans one of the best novels I have read so far this year. Fans of good science fiction won’t want to miss this one.
