Drugs, cartels, double-crossing, and narrow escapes are elements that bring the adrenaline rush readers want to find in adventure and crime stories, and they fill the pages of One Final Run by Gordon Mack. The novel is action packed and it follows the adventures of Jeremy Luca, a former Army Ranger, whose life seems to be perfect in the shadow of his rich brother, but who is irresistibly pulled into the world of drugs. A skilled smuggler, when the notorious El Gato cartel entrusts him with the delivery of $300,000 worth of pure heroin to the Abacos, Jeremy sees an opportunity to enrich himself. His plan is actually to steal the entire package, sell it, and disappear. But can he escape the cartel assassins?

One Final Run is a great treat for fans of adventure, a story with strong and convincing characters and an international setting that takes readers across exciting spots in Miami, Washington DC, the Florida Keys, Spanish Cay, Turtle Cay, and Belize. Gordon Mack demonstrates great knowledge of aviation, which is a strong indication that this novel has been well researched. The prose is realistic and it is interspersed with dialogues that are written to feel like natural conversations. The short chapters combine with timely paragraph breaks and the author’s unique phraseology to make for an enjoyable read. The narrative is suspenseful and the story begins with a dramatic moment that introduces readers to the powerful conflict. This is one of those stories that leave readers with the feeling of an action movie, very cinematic and hugely satisfying.
