Author Biography

I live in Ville Platte, an “off the beaten track”, rural community of French ancestry in south central Louisiana. I am very blessed with 4 adult children and some spouses; 9 grandchildren and some spouses; and 3 great grandchildren! Plus 4 sisters and their families!
Friends and family would never have expected me to be a writer of religious subjects, especially after I had left the Church for a time. I have been a teacher, and counselor, (retired) career which made me aware that many of our fellow baptized Christians are too often, very ill-formed, ignorant, of our faith, disinterested, and non-participating. I have seen this serious situation in fellow Catholics and other Christians too, this need for conversion! And many are searching for some plan of comfort and security from this world. This is the reason that I write a monthly newspaper column and have written a book. The focus of my writings is to help us learn that God has created us to know, love, and serve Him, and to live happily, and peacefully now and eternally with Him: the solution to the chaos. Since there is no retirement from serving the Lord, writing about His plan for us is my present work.
My book One Foot in the Grave, the Other Groping for Life: Lessons for Christians and Christianity’s Survival in the Twenty First Century, can be purchased locally and on Amazon and Barnes and Nobel.

In One Foot in the Grave, the Other Groping for Life, Yvonne Ardoin Dardeau issues a call to arms to fight the spiritual war this modern society has declared against the truth of God’s Word. The call is urgent and sincere. Yvonne explains the methods of gaining strength for the battle. She gives a complete training manual and battle plans. Yvonne’s desire is for Christians to grow in their love and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ. She starts by explaining that Christianity in the modern world has become a target of attack by most people. Even among Christians, she shows great concern for the lack of dedication to growing closer to our Lord. Yvonne desires to wake up professing Christians and spur them on to spiritual growth by teaching them how to live in a close relationship with Christ.

Yvonne Ardoin Dardeau sends out a wake-up call to all Christians in One Foot in the Grave, the Other Groping for Life. Yvonne says Christians need to return to a close and intimate relationship with Jesus, not only for the safety of their soul but also to draw others back into a relationship with Jesus. While she gives several Christian practices of discipleship, she emphasizes three. Our goal in this life should be to grow in our love for Jesus Christ, our service for others, and in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our life should be spent getting to know Christ, loving Him, and sharing His love through our care and service to others. As we grow in our knowledge of Jesus, we also seek to know others so we can serve them better. This is a book of encouragement and inspiration.
