Oz Will Fall: Wicked Rebirth is a work of fiction in the fantasy, action and adventure sub-genres, and was penned by author duo John Malone and Nicole Delgado. Suitable for most readers from mature teens upwards, the work does contain some scenes of graphic fantasy violence that puts a darker spin on the traditional tales of Oz. In this third installment of the Oz Will Fall series, we find our classic heroes in a state of hopelessness and disarray. As the Wicked continue to rise and their darkness shrouds the land in a seemingly impenetrable doom, change looms on the horizon, and Oz cannot help but succumb to it.

Author team John Malone and Nicole Delgado really know how to tell a story. One of the things I particularly liked about this novel was the pacing, which takes us through action-packed chapters at the kind of breakneck speed that you’d expect from the third book in a series where the action is really heating up. Their transformation of Oz is grown up and vividly described, with excellent use of dark imagery and new inventive monsters who join the Wicked in the fight against Good. I also really enjoyed the characterization of Dorothy as a strong young woman who has had her idyllic visions shattered, and she is really put to the test by the amazing events of this blockbuster plot. Overall, I would highly recommend Wicked Rebirth and the Oz Will Fall series to fantasy fans looking for a more serious and dangerous reimagining of this classic world.

Just when you think you know the story of The Wizard of Oz, John Malone and Nicole Delgado penned Oz Will Fall: Wicked Rebirth. They take us down an uncertain path where long-ago dark magic has been claimed and all the evil and wickedness in Oz is reborn. Dorothy and her band of friends battle evil and the wicked witches, who have a newly formed coven and are destroying anything good that exists in Oz. What has happened to this once beautiful and magical land? Who will survive the dark times and what future will Dorothy face in Oz? What sacrifices will have to be made, lives ended, and deals struck in order for Oz to survive the onslaught of pure evil?

From the beginning, I was captivated by this story. Oz Will Fall: Wicked Rebirth is a fast-paced, intricately woven story of the age-old battle of good versus evil. We all thought we knew the story behind Oz and its magical land, but John Malone and Nicole Delgado’s book is extremely well written and character development is exceptional. For the reader, it is easy to visualize the characters, what each one brings to this story, as well as the life battles each character faces, especially Dorothy. Dorothy, the heroine of the book, must win the battle against the evil witches. Will Dorothy herself survive the personal pain surrounding her best friends? Time will tell. This is a great book. I know each person that reads it will be automatically transported to Oz. Enjoy the ride!

Oz Will Fall: Wicked Rebirth by John Malone and Nicole Delgado is a gorgeous treat for fans of fantasy and readers who enjoy tales involving magic. The third book in the series, it transports readers to a land that is being destroyed by darkness. The Emerald City is no longer what it used to be and more darkness awaits the beautiful city of Oz. But there are those who will fight till their last breath to restore balance and expel the darkness. Dorothy and her friends, including Polly and Tin, must seek allies. Although hurt and broken, they don’t give up hope. There is only one hope of saving Oz: finding the Grimoire, an ancient tome of the blackest magic ever known in creation. But it is coveted by many, including the enemies of Oz. Every minute matters and lives hang in the balance. Follow Dorothy and her friends on their perilous and most important mission ever.

This is a fast-paced, well-narrated story that explores the darkness that befalls a once beautiful city. John Malone and Nicole Delgado explore the primordial conflict of good versus evil and create characters that readers will love to follow. The pain that Dorothy experiences is well-portrayed in the story. The plot is powerful and the surprises are many. The narrative is done in a quirky, first-person narrative voice that is absorbing. I wanted to see the face of the narrator, a character who is torn between the light and the encroaching darkness. Oz Will Fall: Wicked Rebirth is a tale that I definitely want to watch on screen, filled with magic and exceptional characters. I recommend the book to fans of fantasy for its great potential to entertain and transport readers.
