A.A. Sõbrad is dedicated to teaching, using his life experience. He wants to see people grow with him, so he helps others through his books. On this occasion he presents us with Perceptual Learning: Discover Your Learning Style, an essential guide not only for students but for anyone who wants to learn, regardless of the subject. The book begins by explaining how we gather experiences through our senses from an early age, collecting different types of information that we adapt to our circumstances. He gives simple everyday examples of how we can understand, improve and empower our lives. This book gives a basic understanding of the different methods of perceptual learning. With this and our creativity, there will be no limits to our performance.
Perceptual Learning clearly explains that our level of sensory adaptation directs our level of learning. We can use this knowledge to our advantage, which is why it is such a valuable book. The most common methods are visual, auditory, reading, writing, kinesthetic, olfactory, teaching, or a combination of these. By training our senses we will perfect our memory function and our learning capacity will improve. The explanations are very entertaining because A.A. Sõbrad gives examples of situations and describes the tools that can be applied for each learning method. He has a very relaxed and distinctive way of writing, which feels like listening to a good friend giving advice. This book teaches that life is about constantly learning new things and that we will always be capable of it.
