Author Biography

Living in a small village in Lancashire, England, the author has written his second book, Peter, Enchantment and Stardust. In the 1990s, the author had twenty-one articles published, both nationally and internationally. After gaining an honours degree in Geosciences, doing post-graduate study in Occupational Health and Fitness, and earning a masters degree in Science Communication, he developed an interest for simple communication. A passion for writing again emerged, and combining various interests in fine art, museum exhibition display, biology, geology, poetry, and the mystical led to the story of Peter: A Darkened Fairytale. The author still retains a childlike vision of the world, which is conveyed throughout his books.

The whimsical theme in'Peter: A Darkened Fairytale' by William O'Brien will indeed captivate the readers. Peter is transported to another world on his tenth birthday. As he travels through the clouds, he is oblivious of the mysteries that is awaiting him. The path he travels is also used by haunted spirits who can manipulate and change his destination. On his mission to deliver gold flakes to the fairies to ensure peace again, Peter meets many interesting characters. He also learns the importance of controlling the mind and whether he is alive or dead. Peter wonders if his life will be colorful again and whether he would be able to come back to his earlier land.

The story takes you on a fascinating journey full of magic, whimsy and adventure. Peter's magical and whimsical journey is charming where the readers are being taken to crazy lands, exciting characters and intriguing incidents. The theme is reminiscent of 'Alice in Wonderland' which stimulates all the sensory qualities of the readers. The language is rich and exquisite and that adds to the colorful appeal and visual aspect of this captivating story. The narration is crisp and clever. The chapters are short and the story moves quickly.

The book is enjoyable to the readers because it conjures up a lot of mystical thoughts in their minds. The theme is dark and mysterious. The author has retained the childlike whimsical quality in his narration and depiction of the characters. That makes it an enchanting read for everyone.
