Declan Collins is a brilliant, well-known Los Angeles lawyer who provides successful defenses for wealthy clients in tax fraud and similar cases. He also wrote a screenplay describing an intricate money-laundering scheme. His longtime friend Matt Esposito found a potential buyer from Blackpool Studios, a new movie studio. Declan and Matt were soon on a private jet to Mexico to meet the “investor,” Ramon Cayetano. Cayetano is the head of a large Mexican drug cartel and needed to find ways to launder money. And, he had taken nefarious steps so that Declan could not refuse to cooperate. In Phantom Money, author S. Alexander O’Keefe develops a thrilling adventure encompassing complicated financial and legal knowledge, United States government agencies, and drug cartels.

Although this in-depth knowledge can be complex, the style of writing is clear and concise, making it comprehensible to all readers. An interesting aspect of this fictional work is the personalities of the main characters. For example, Cayetano’s two main agents in the scheme have a personal connection to him, and they too have no choice but to follow his directions. Although Declan is a masterful defense attorney and keeps white-collar criminals out of prison, he also has a heart of gold when a friend is in danger. The story is fast-paced and is full of breathtaking moments. There are many twists and turns, and the ending has some surprises in it. Author S. Alexander O’Keefe has written an impressive, entertaining legal thriller in Phantom Money. An excellent read!
