Author Biography

Julia was born in Austria of Ukrainian background. She had a post-war education in semi-rural south-east England where she, together with her brother, had a happy childhood.
She’s been a bit of a wanderer travelling to many countries but now lives in Adelaide, South Australia, where she has been settled for nearly 30 years.
At high school, she was a chess champion but her best moves may have been in later years when she played competition squash.
Julia seems to thrive on change. The number of jobs she’s had is much like the number of countries she’s visited – 35 in all. Those jobs have ranged from teacher’s aide, hand pollinating corn in fields, TV ads, working in a funeral parlour, managed playgroup in a childcare centre, plus an assortment of secretarial and administrative positions.
Julia adores her miniature poodle, Pippin, who competes in dog sports and walks him every day. She loves her garden, enjoys reading and writing children’s stories.
Julia is happily married with one son, two stepsons, one stepdaughter and four grandchildren.
Her aspiration is to write a series of children’s books and on that note, she agrees with the optimistic view on life that “the glass is half full, not half empty”.

Winter is the snow season, and there is nothing better than having a great outdoor adventure with your friends to enjoy it. The hero of our story, Pippin, does not know what snow is, but when Mummy tells him it is the right time to play, they jump into the car and set off for a beautiful day. Pippin has fun digging a hole, licking the snowman, and above all, having many great friends like Emy the Emu and Luna the fluffy dog who invites him to snowboard. Are you ready to join Pippin and all his friends in Pippin Goes Snowboarding by Julia Seaborn? I am sure you are.

If there is one story that all children will enjoy reading, this is it. Pippin Goes Snowboarding is a book where young readers will happily spend their time getting to know amazing creatures like the emu and following their hero as he discovers all that is possible to do in the snow. It is funny to see Pippin licking the snowman because he thinks it is a person, and it is also amusing following him when he joins the snowboard race with Luna and the other dogs. I believe these adventures are irresistible and will delight young readers. They will love the beautiful images portraying Pippin and the other characters. I recommend Pippin Goes Snowboarding to young readers who like to have fun with stories featuring animal friends. Pippin is the perfect playmate for them.
