Poetry is a great form of expression. Poems for Kids & Me by Jessie L. Best is a fun, entertaining and engaging collection of poems suitable for children. The colorful illustrations and the poems will have children giggling and wanting more as they read about Persnickety Miss, the Ballabooga Train and the Gunther Troll. Each of these five poems will take your child into a world of adventure. Just imagine the fun that children will experience as they picture themselves swinging through the air. In reading As High As The Sky, your child will feel the wind on their face and blowing through their hair with each word of the poem. “So we don’t need the wagon as we go to play. We can leave the wagon for another day” are the beautiful words spoken in the poem We Don't Need The Wagon. This poem is about just a normal day of interpersonal interaction of engagement, walking, talking and enjoying the company between children and their parents.

Poems for Kids & Me by Jessie L. Best is not only a beautifully written and illustrated collection of poetry, but it offers an excellent way for children to learn. Even though there are only five poems in Poems for Kids & Me, children will still be able to enjoy the colorful pictures and it allows them to dream and stimulates their creative juices to evoke imagination. Poems for Kids and Me by Jessie L. Best is a fun, well written children's book. The book consists of five poems, and each has a different plot. The first one follows a child whose best friend is a troll named Gunther, the best friend ever. The second is about a mouse who is the engineer of a train, and he always drives people into town once a week. The third is about a child who wants to be pushed on a swing, and he wants to go higher. The fourth is about a child who goes to the park, and decides that they don't need to bring the wagon with them. The final poem is about a girl who acts like a very fancy person.

I really enjoyed reading Poems for Kids and Me by Jessie L. Best. The stories are all very fun and relatable. The book is very well written and the rhyming is very well done and never falters. I liked that each poem had a story. I liked the third poem, and the last poem the best. The pictures depict each poem very well. The pictures are also bold and colorful. The characters in each poem are all likeable and relatable. Each poem followed a pattern and never failed to please. Each poem will make children smile, and they will not want the book to end. I would definitely recommend Poems for Kids and Me to all young children.
