Jack Morgan was a former CIA agent. Morgan runs a well known investigation service, Private by name. There are branches around the world. His company uses the newest and most advanced technology.

Jack was knee deep in two investigations, an NFL gambling scandal and the murder of 18 girls by a serial killer and now an ex-lover has been brutally murdered. He was determined to find the killer and put all the resources at his disposal on the case. Jack rarely answered to the same rules as the police.

As if all of this wasn’t enough, Jack’s twin brother was obviously insane. They were raised to compete against each other. Jack has been receiving death threats, could his brother be the culprit?

This is an exciting thriller. It is one of the best Patterson has “written” in quite some time. The plot is action packed. There were several threads intricately woven together. The two I found most interesting were the serial killer (18 schoolgirls) and Jack and his wacko brother. I’d like to see another story that concentrated more on the dynamics of that relationship. Their father had to be as insane as the brother. The scene in the doctor’s office was touching until the brother once again turned on him.
