In Professor Kompressor Out of This World by Nils Andersson, Professor Kompressor is bored. That's not a healthy way to be for someone as brilliant as the Professor. He's always studying ways to understand the universe and he's constantly inventing some new contraption, like the time machine that was more of a time manipulator. It took away the need for 'boring' time, like television commercials, allowing the Professor considerably more quality time to research and to invent. Only, the device that he created to trap the 'boring' time explodes and he is overwhelmed with boredom. Until his mentor, Professor Ainsworth, insists that they attend a seminar on space travel. Professor Kompressor is inspired, not by the seminar, but by the discussion that he has with Professor Ainsworth. He creates a device, a rocket, that can reach warp drive, something that had only been done in the movies. With Professor Ainsworth's encouragement, Professor Kompressor sets out to create a life-sized prototype, a spaceship designed to fly in warp drive. He even makes a clone of his brain so that the captain of his spaceship will know what to do, how to run all of the Professor's high-tech equipment, once he's out in space. Only he didn't take into consideration his housekeeper's niece, Lily, and his exuberant little dog, Spot. That's when the adventure really begins and the Professor unwillingly has a trip through space.

When Nils Andersson isn't creating another compelling tale of his miscreant science genius, Professor Kompressor, he is a professor of mathematics and a leading authority on Einstein's Theory of Relativity. He obviously knows what he's talking about when he invokes his character's scientific and mathematical genius with credibility. This is an exciting space and time travel adventure as well as an educational experience for avid young space enthusiasts. Well done!
