Promise of the Visitor is book three of David Gittlin's Silver Sphere series. After saving the world once more in book two, Jacob and Amy returned to Jeffrey/Jack's beach house to unwind. Things got complicated rather fast and now Earth's saviors have an unconscious body at their feet and two Sheriff's deputies knocking at the front door. Arcon has informed his companions of an extraterrestrial visitor inbound with gifts for humanity. The “Welcome to Earth” party will have to wait, however, as a hostile warship is idling on the moon's surface and, to add to the excitement, is a fast-approaching doomsday device that wipes out entire solar systems. Jacob can’t seem to catch a break as once again the group will have to save Earth from impending doom.

The Silver Sphere series continues to deliver fast-paced suspenseful science fiction with ease. Promise of the Visitor retained all that I loved about the previous books in the series. The suspense, endearing characters, thrilling scenes, and great laughs continue to take center stage in David Gittlin's sequel. This book is a bite-sized read, just as the previous books were, and that’s something else I loved about it. These days we simply don’t have the time to read a tome. Kudos to the author for sticking with succinct stories. Although this book was a short read, the author successfully compressed the content without leaving out any good bits. Subsequent chapters began where we left off and the entire plot was well polished. The characters are still those that I fell in love with in book one, and the new addition, Silenna, was also a very likable character. This is another brilliant entry into a beloved series that readers of the genre will truly appreciate and enjoy.

Promise of the Visitor by David B Gittlin is the third book in the Silver Sphere Series. The story begins dramatically with a man lying unconscious on the narrator's kitchen table. Following inquiries by the Sheriff's deputies, readers are informed about Arcon, an AI from another planet. With further revelations, we know that the AI has saved the Earth twice and is now expected to embark on another space mission. There have been reports of the third attack on Earth. The AI waits for another partner from the planet Aneleya. Arcon and the new visitor must fight the enemy warships and rescue innocent human beings. Soon after, the triad is joined by a female visitor from Aneleya who's here to safeguard humankind. Silenna, the female visitor, warns the narrator and his girlfriend of anticipated threats from a doomsday device. Meanwhile, Arcon is undetectable in tracing a warship but is later located on the other side of the Moon. Will they succeed in their space mission to shield Earth from the doomsday device?

The revelation of Arcon's purpose is straightforward, keeping the suspense going. Arcon's representation as a savior for Earth is impressive and engaging. The harmony between Arcon and the two humans is very well established, bringing coherence to the story. The conversations are vivid and capture the reader's interest. With the arrival of Silenna, the plot takes a twist, which provides the momentum for the nail-biting adventures. Along with anticipated action and warfare, there are segments of romance between the narrator and his girlfriend, which offer interludes in an eventful and action-packed narrative. Traces of humor are interspersed in between. David B Gittlin has made fantastic efforts in describing the unique natural settings, which gives a vibrant touch to the narrative. The descriptions of the spacesuits, interstellar details, and the details of the raids on the warship left a lasting impression on me. The events are very well tied together, with sequential action and no unnecessary exaggeration. Every element is well-knitted into the others and makes the Promises of the Visitor an entertaining read for all sci-fi and fantasy lovers.
