Author Biography

Lisa Ayotte, an educator in CT, loves finding ways to make reading easier and fun for children. She believes kids learn best when they can visualize and make connections to what they read. And when something is funny to them, even better!
Lisa decided to create her "Peeps" as unique and diverse as the students she's taught over her many years as an elementary school teacher. She enjoys designing each scene, adding small details as she goes, to capture the reader's attention and help them focus on the "little" things. Find out more at: punnypeeps.com

Punny Jokes to Tell Your Peeps by Lisa Ayotte is the seventh book in this humorous series with the Punny Peeps returning with even more delightful jokes to share. The book provides an assortment of new jokes that showcase Ayotte's skill at punny humor and presents children with quirky visuals as they read through the jokes. The unique visuals will help children with understanding puns and the use of punny language by helping them make sense of why the jokes are funny. Though centered on puns, each joke has a play on words that will engage and teach children how to word associate such as with trail mix and hiker, tree storing its stuff in its trunk, why you can't keep secrets at a bank with all the tellers, and how the skeletons don't cross the road because they don't have the guts to do so. The Punny Peeps will appeal to a variety of ages and will be a great treat for kids and parents alike.

Lisa Ayotte has a charming and clever sense of humor. The book is unique in how it's a child-friendly collection of jokes that aim to teach children as much as to make them laugh with a variety of puns. The language is playful and whimsical as Ayotte crafts over thirty delightful jokes that are clever and have fun playing with language. Parents will appreciate the jokes for the way they'll bring a smile to their children while also teaching them important language usage. Those new to the Punny Peeps will enjoy seeing the creations that Ayotte has made throughout with each fuzzy peep being original and showing a diverse range in appearance. The accompanying images are unique in how Ayotte arranges little sets with the Punny Peeps and different toys to create a scene that pairs with the joke. Each scene created gives a visual to the jokes which will help children understand the joke at any age while also creating a brief story that comes to life. It is clear that Ayotte takes the time to arrange each scene to perfectly pair with the jokes and takes care to bring humor and imagination together. Punny Jokes to Tell Your Peeps is a great treat for all ages with humorous jokes, playful language, quirky and unique visuals, and lots of puns.

I think I have missed out on a lot of fun jokes because this is Book Seven in Lisa Ayotte's Punny Jokes To Tell Your Peeps! collection. I actually read this book several times. I love the jokes, and even though I have heard a few of them, I haven't seen pictures to go with them. This book is cover to cover jokes with pictures that tell the joke as well. The illustrations are the key to this book. What child wouldn't like these quirky pictures!

I just love, love this joke book for kids. All kids love jokes and usually want to tell punny jokes to family members. That's what happens when we get together. I can just see my niece now with this book, going around telling everyone jokes. It makes for a fun time, for kids and adults alike. And not only that, kids are learning a lot. When your child is telling these jokes, they are learning communication skills, word building, and their imagination goes wild as they look at the adorable illustrations with the jokes being acted out. And what I love about illustrations is that even children that cannot read can make up their own jokes. This is just an all-round, super book. One that you can't go wrong with. What a fun book this will be for gifts. Overall, I loved this book; it looks great inside and out. I highly recommend Lisa Ayotte's Punny Jokes To Tell Your Peeps, Book 7.
