I write stories and ride horses--frequently simultaneously! Not surprisingly, these stories are often infused with the mystery, love, and spirituality horses have brought to my life.

The prophecies said that there would be no horses in Cirg for two hundred and twenty-two courses and then they would disappear forever, but before that time, a Horsecaller would come. Raver: Book One of The Horsecaller, by Candace Carrabus, is an exciting and suspenseful fantasy of a young equestrian, Lauren Gallagher who finds herself slipping through the Ravery, a veil between our world and the world of Cirg. When she meets the Supreme Guardian Leinos, after slipping through the veil, Lauren denies that she is the prophesied Horsecaller. However, because of her equestrian skill, which was passed down through generations of her family and her love of horses, she suddenly discovers herself on a quest to bring home the horses of Cirg. Along with Pindar, she sets out on an extraordinary adventure in an unknown world. Will her skills be sufficient to bring home the horses?

Candace Carrabus has created a fantasy adventure that is certain to be a hit. Raver: Book One of The Horsecaller has all of the elements that make for an excellent fantasy fiction novel. The detail of the fantasy world, the characters, and the quest all lend themselves to a fantastical adventure that keeps the reader turning pages. The awakening of Lauren, who at first simply wants to be left alone with her horses, makes the plot line even more realistic. Though this is fantasy fiction, it rings loudly with a note of truth. Creative, suspenseful, and intricate; Raver is an excellent introduction into a series of fantasy novels that are certain to draw more and more fans.
