Mystery and intrigue abound in Brenda Limpert’s novel, Razing Moor House. When Michael met Corin at a concert, he did not know that his life was going to change forever. He simply knew that Corin seemed different and that he wanted to get to know her better. But different is an understatement in Corin’s life, and Michael soon gets a chance to find out more about her and her family’s dark past than he ever wanted to know. On the night of their chance meeting, Michael gets into a devastating car wreck that kills his best friend and leaves him hospitalized with a broken leg. Feeling sorry for him, Corin invites Michael to stay with her at Moor House. But, Moor House holds many secrets, and Corin holds the answers to some of them in a letter from her late father. Someone, however, does not want her to read that letter and reveal the answers, and they will stop at nothing to put the information in that document to rest forever.

Brenda Limpert’s book is a mystery that will leave readers guessing until the very end. Her cast of characters are so wonderfully over-the-top and suspicious that readers will be pursuing every clue to try to figure out who amongst the group can be trusted, and the setting of the ominous Moor House is something straight out of a game of Clue. While I feel that Limpert left a little too much for the reader to decipher for themselves and would have liked a tidier summation, I definitely feel the journey to get there was well worth reading. Razing Moor House was a spooky and exciting mystery that I would recommend to fans of the genre, and I look forward to reading more from Brenda Limpert.
