Author Biography

As an Environmental Architectural Technologist, Cultural Economist, Scholar, Entrepreneur, Author, Motivational Speaker, mother, wife and Budget Coach. I have always worked around issues that have affected me in one form or another; like run for local council in Galway city, Ireland, when I was directly affected by not having a playground close to my home. A former Council Housing representative for the community; working on housing policies (hence my Architectural background). My role in co-ordinating the first Ms Ebony in Ireland Pageant (Featured on Irish National TV Programme: Pobal). This stems from the desire to work with the community and address social-cultural and economic issues.

Recession Buster: 10 Steps To Managing Your Household Budget (A little at a time) by Tokie Laotan-Brown is a self-help book aimed at teaching us how to manage our income better through controlling our expenses. The book focuses on techniques that will allow us to gain a certain degree of financial independence by mastering how to make and implement household budgets. From this book, you will learn how to organise your expenses, draw out a budget, systematically reduce debt, set financial goals, and everything else in between that will enable you to gain a reasonable degree of control over your expenses. Tokie Laotan-Brown's ultimate message is that times are hard and expenses keep getting bigger and bigger; the main point of the book is to show you how you can gain control over these expenses using your available income.

The book uses practical and easy to master mathematical calculations to show us how to manage our home budgets and reduce the stress that comes with out-of-control expenses. Our financial obligations become bigger and bigger every day but, unfortunately, our income might not grow at the same rate. It is therefore important to learn how to control the expenses through household budgeting, and that is exactly what Tokie Laotan-Brown shows you in this book.
