Redeemed by Alisa Massey is a true-life story about alcohol and drug addiction and the long road to recovery. Alisa had a very unstable childhood: her parents divorced when she was little; her mother was an alcoholic who then married an abusive man after her divorce from Alisa's father. Alisa was, however, determined to make it in life and focused on her studies. She could not resist the peer pressure of high school and this is when she started drinking. Little did she know that the alcohol gene ran in her family and that once she started drinking it would be impossible to stop. The drinking escalated and a series of unfortunate events followed, ending with her becoming a single mother of two lovely kids and then losing custody of her kids. With the help of her father, she finally checked into a rehab center and with determination and God's help, she was able to overcome her alcohol and drug addictions.

Redeemed is a story about overcoming the worst and getting a second chance at a new life. Alisa does not regret any of her past misfortunes but she is instead grateful because all those misfortunes led her to where she is today. Her story is about hitting rock bottom and then climbing up again. She tried and failed so many times, but with God's help she was able to overcome her addictions, find love, and live a new life. In the end, Alisa's story told me that recovery from addictions is hard and rough but it is possible to kick your worst habits and become a new person. You just need to be determined and put your trust in God.
