Author Biography

Michael Alexander Beas holds an associate's degree in business administration and a bachelor's degree in business management; none of which has anything to do with writing novels. He spent over a dozen years working in banking, telecommunications and commercial insurance. In those industries, he dedicated the bulk of his time selling products and services to customers. He has always enjoyed writing but busy schedules never gave him the time needed to follow the dream of completing a novel. Then one day, life gave him the opportunity to fulfill that dream. Beas lives in Waxhaw, N.C. with his family.

Reflections: Prayers From the Heart of a 14 Year Old Boy by Michael Alexander Beas is a compilation of twenty-three prayers that deal with such topics as who we are, temptation, and struggling to find our way in an ever turbulent world. Young and old alike are sure to find encouragement within the pages of this easy to read book that deals with issues that we all struggle with daily. Written in a style that sort of reminded me of a journal of spiritual growth, it would honestly make a wonderful daily devotional. Each chapter begins with a personal story and then a wonderful prayer. Mr. Beas’ faith certainly shines through the pages of Reflections and his gentle reminders of God’s love nourish the spirit.

Reflections by Michael Alexander Beas was written when he was a fourteen-year-old teen dealing with the issues of day to day life. Young people are certainly going to relate to the thoughts that Mr. Beas shares, but the peace and wisdom that emanates from the pages actually transcends age and gender because he captures the essence of what challenges most of us. As I read each chapter, I found myself feeling more than refreshed; I actually felt spiritually recharged. Short chapters make for a quick read, but this isn't a book to be hurried through; instead, it's one to be read and savored. Relevant for every age level, whether you need a bit of uplifting or encouragement, the spiritual boost that you will find within the pages of Reflections will touch the heart and stir the soul.

An Open Heart.

It is indeed a rare privilege to have access to the mind of a 14-year old boy. Usually the young minds are a mystery to us. They seem to travel their own path, which we, adults, have long left behind. Yet here, thanks to the author Michael Beas, we witness a young mind sharing not only his prayers but also his innermost feelings with quite unexpected candor. We witness the boy’s thoughts, his emotions, and most of all the depth of his unshakable faith in the divine benevolence. It is a treat that is utterly unique, and will benefit not only other teenagers but also adults who stumble upon this rare jewel.

Thank you Michael for opening your heart to us all.
