Revenge is Sweet (A Samantha Church Mystery) by Betta Ferrendelli is, as the title suggests, a gripping mystery. Samantha Church and her publisher Wilson Cole Jr. are kidnapped by drug dealers seeking revenge because Samantha had ruined their smuggling operations. They are taken to an undisclosed location and after a few days Samantha is released. They want to harm Samantha in every possible way they can and also hurt the people with whom she is emotionally connected so that it affects her. The kidnappers know that the best way to hurt her is by harming her daughter, April, and her friend, Wilson Cole Jr. Will Samantha be able to save herself and her loved ones from being harmed by the kidnappers? Will she make her own plan to teach them a lesson?

With a fast moving story, this book will keep readers glued to it till the very end. The protagonist Samantha Church has been portrayed well with a lot of power and depth in her characterization. Readers can relate to the characters and they come across as believable and genuine people.
