Amateur sleuth and third year law student Anne Marshall returns in "Ring Around the Rosie", the third in author Jackie Fullerton's mystery series. Anne and her fiance Jason Perry head to Florida to vacation for a week at Jason's parents' home. Just before they arrive, Jason's father, Fred, discovers the murdered body of his wife Nancy's friend, Maude Allen. Attached to her body is a note bearing the words "A pocket full of posy" from the old English nursery rhyme about contracting the deadly pox. Maude's brother was the victim of a hit-and-run accident months before and a note reading "Ring around a Rosy", the first line of that old poem, was attached to his body. The local police are called in to investigate Maude's murder and one of them, attractive widower Detective Don Reynolds, finds himself drawn to Anne and his feelings are returned, to Anne's dismay. Anne is counseled by her father James, now a ghostly presence as he died of a massive heart attack several years before. James Marshall does not want his daughter involved in murders, especially this one, as she always gets too close to the action.

"Ring Around the Rosy" is another well-written mystery featuring Anne Marshall that readers will just love. The hints of visitors from the other side, especially Anne's dead father, James Marshall, add just the right touch of overview that enriches the storyline. The characters are believable; they have depth and enhance the basic story. The plot progresses with twists and turns that will have the readers holding their breath and crossing their fingers. Yes, "Ring Around the Rosy" belongs on mystery lovers' reading lists everywhere.
