A rape, a murder, a politician, a detective and a medium are an aberrant combination that makes River Road by C.M. Albrecht a riveting murder mystery. Bill Madigan, a divorce lawyer, is having a fling with Sherri Dunlap, one of his clients. Because Bill is up for election as District Attorney, he insists on meeting Sherri in out of the way places in separate cars. This day, it begins to rain heavily as Sherri leaves the obscure motel and drives down the rural back road. Seventeen-year-old Traci Clery is heading home on her bicycle through the pouring rain. Sherri's car clips Traci's bicycle, slides off the road, and slams into a tree. The only witness to the accident leaves Sherri unconscious and paralyzed in her car and removes the injured Traci and her bike. The next day Traci's abused body is found five miles from Sherri's accident. No one is even aware that the two incidents are connected, except for two people; the perpetrator and a medium.

River Road by C.M. Albrecht is a gripping murder mystery surrounding a young girl's rape and murder. A family's grief is caused by a charismatic, self-absorbed man with no moral ethics and a lack of conscience. How far will he go to cover up his lapse in judgment? It gives us a frightening look at what anti-social disorder is! The addition of Lucretia and her mystical dreams gave the story a nice curve. If you like the creepy chills before sleeping, this is a good book to read on a stormy night, curled up underneath a blanket, after you have double checked all the doors and locks. This is for more mature readers as it contains some mild sexual scenes.
