Zane Hollister is back from prison, and he wants one thing: Jenny. The only problem is Jen is with Colton, the tech whiz from Silicon Valley who made her feel secure and balanced. Zane, on the other hand, is pure danger! Tall, muscular, and charming, Zane is a real ladies' man, albeit a former drug-dealing one—and the former part is still in question. Though he claims to be "sober and straight", Jen does not want to go back to feeling unsafe and insecure. Unfortunately, when she informs Zane that she is no longer interested, she begins to experience a series of catastrophes she suspects are brought about by Zane. Will Jen escape this nightmare and save her relationship? Find out in Romeo Stalker by Irene Woodbury.

This is how to write a plot-driven story! You know when you read a story and you remember every single thing? That's exactly my experience with Romeo Stalker. Irene Woodbury is a skilled and talented writer who knows how to write a story and make all the different parts connect perfectly. The book is quite introspective and revealing: there were several moments where I was surprised and had to tell myself, "I have thought about this before!" The main protagonist is a showgirl who doesn't get completely nude so expect some sex appeal and several colorful Las Vegas parties. However, there are no sexually explicit scenes. Besides being a greatly thrilling and vivacious narrative, Romeo Stalker brings our attention to a serious issue that affects different women around the world: dangerous, controlling spouses. Therefore, I highly recommend Romeo Stalker to readers who have left or are looking to leave a toxic relationship.

Romeo Stalker by Irene Woodbury is an intense romantic thriller fit for a Lifetime movie. Zane Hollister is out of prison after serving two years, and there's only one thing on his mind, his ex, Jen, but she's seeing Colton, and Zane is toxic and possessive. Does Jen still have feelings for him, or has she put the past behind her? This spells nothing but danger for the couple as Zane viciously stalks them in Las Vegas. Stalking is an understatement. Attempted murder is more like it as he orchestrates a deadly zip line accident and an auto accident. If that isn't enough, in comes a drive-by shooting, an abduction, and a forced marriage. But that isn't the icing on the cake. There's one last ultimate strike, and you just have to read it to believe it.

Woodbury has her pulse on dramatic women's fiction, delivering characters and situations that seem over-the-top until you realize this kind of thing happens every day to real people just like Jen and Colton. "Dateline" covers stories just like this, and maybe you know some who have been stalked, or have even been stalked yourself. In any event, you will connect empathetically with Jen as she tries to get on with her life, but irrational Zane won't let her. He's the ex that can't let go, and poor Colton is in the crossfire with her. I like how Woodbury makes Las Vegas come so alive for readers that it's like a character itself. While this novel has its share of tension and suspense, it also has a heart and is anchored in truth. Romeo Stalker by Irene Woodbury is a tantalizing romantic thriller that won't disappoint.

Zane Hollister is the psycho and Jenny Conover is the object of his obsession in Romeo Stalker by Irene Woodbury. Zane likes to visit nude bars, make drug deals, huddle in poker rooms, and hang out with undesirable types. But he has the charm that won the heart of a once young and naive Jenny. But that was before. Now Jenny is happy with Colton Barnes, a tech whiz from Silicon Valley who is intent on giving her the life that she deserves. Fresh out of prison, Zane discovers that Jen is now happy in the arms of another guy, and he will have none of it. This psycho is now on the couple’s trail, stalking and taunting them. He has a keen radar sense of Jenny’s whereabouts, and when stalking is not enough, he devises sinister plans that will put Jenny's and Colton’s lives in harm’s way.

What you will read here is a romantic thriller that sweeps an obsessed ex-lover into psychotic proportions. Author Irene Woodbury gives her novel, Romeo Stalker, the scares and thrills in all the right places. The way Woodbury sees Zane and Colton as extreme opposites is the key to why Romeo Stalker is effective in its genre. Zane as an ex-convict and ex-boyfriend is anything but restrained. He is determined to exact revenge over a transgression that does not exist. He covertly taunts and unapologetically harasses Jenny while emasculating Colton. Everything he does also puts a strain on Jenny’s mother, Brandi. Zane sees that he can never match Colton’s accomplishments, so he outmatches him in a way that he can. While everything about Zane reveals that he is not only smart, he is cunning to the point of luring his targets into deadly traps. Woodbury has distinguished herself as an author by mixing thriller and romance well. This is a must-read romance tale that will put you on edge.
