Rune Myth's Adventures was a joy to read. From start to finish, I was impressed with Shannon Langel's talent and I haven't come across a book like this before. It is unique in how you navigate your way through it and I found that it adds extra fun and adventure for whoever is reading it. The book is entertaining, but it is also educational. It teaches children about self-acceptance and how they should embrace their differences. This is something children should learn from a young age and I'm glad there are books like Shannon's that will highlight this. The illustrations are cute and colorful, and the dialogue reads effortlessly. Congrats on the book, Shannon, children are going to adore it!

Rune Myth’s Adventures: A Tale of a Tail by Shannon E. Langel is an inspiring story about accepting yourself exactly as you are. Little dog Rune Myth was born with a tail that is quite a bit shorter than all the other dogs at the park. She wonders if she would be happier if she looked like everyone else so she goes on a journey to find just the right tail. The book is designed to keep kids entertained and engaged. Each time Rune encounters an animal with a long tail, the reader has the choice of which page to turn to next, depending on which type of animal they think the tail belongs to. In the end, little Rune encounters a unicorn who also looks a little different from other horses and decides that she, too, is perfect just the way she is even if she looks different.

Rune Myth’s Adventures by Shannon E. Langel is delightful and uplifting. I can see children being mesmerized by the layout and adventurous elements of the book. The message is much needed and important as there is not enough self-acceptance in this world. The author does a great job of writing at a level children can connect with and setting up the child’s mind to learn about self-love and also respecting and valuing others who might be different in some way. The mystery element of matching the correct tail to the animal is a fun addition to the story! Well-written and with nice illustrations, this is a great book that both kids and adults will enjoy.

Rune Myth's Adventures: A Tale of a Tail by Shannon E Langel is a new book in the series. The story starts with Rune, Shannon’s Australian Shepherd and Smooth Coat Collie mix, looking quite sad. The author goes on to explain that Rune feels different because she doesn’t have a tail like all the other dogs at the park. Shannon then sets the reader on a journey to find a suitable tail for Rune. Each page has a small descriptor and picture showing a possible tail, with the animal hidden. The reader then has an option of two animals to choose from, each with its unique page number. If they choose the incorrect animal, they are redirected to a page that gives them the bad news but also points them in the right direction. If they chose the correct animal and thus also the correct tail, they are redirected to that specific page with some facts about that animal and a cute anecdote about Rune. After going through all the tails and animals, we realize that Rune is perfect the way she is, and this drives home the motivational message of the book.

I enjoyed reading Rune Myth's Adventures and I felt that the hand-drawn pictures were captivating and colorful. The book is both written and illustrated by Shannon E Langel, and I feel she has mastered the art of using color and movement in her book to capture and hold a child’s attention. Flipping between pages is a good way to keep young readers captivated and engaging them in choosing the book’s outcomes are excellent ways to keep children busy and entertained. I can tell that Shannon (and Rune) put a lot of work and love into this children’s book.
