When children face new challenges in life it is normal for them to experience strong feelings such as having doubts and even negative thoughts about themselves. Adults can help children by teaching them to adopt a positive point of view. Search for Silver Linings: The Rhyme-Time Twins provides a great example of this. The story concerns twin girls, Zoey and Chloe. They return home from school after having had a bad day. They explain the situations they have been through to their mom, such as hurting a knee or spoiling their clothes with paint. Their mom teaches them how to find a positive way to face things. Etaine Raphael shows that looking at a situation with optimism can become a fun game.

It is easy to remember what went wrong during the day, but it is preferable to focus on what worked well. I enjoyed Search for Silver Linings because this story can help children improve problem-solving and decision-making under stressful situations. With a new perspective, children will have a significant boost in the development of self-confidence. I was pleased to see the family bonding because the mom helped the twins overcome obstacles. Having conversations with children about how they did in school can help build cohesion. Etaine Raphael encourages a positive approach to life and helps children to use their imagination when facing new challenges.
