The murder victim is a beautiful woman named Crystal, the prime suspect is her husband Garrett. Though they are now separated and living apart, he still has reason to be in her home. Edna Rupp cleaned Crystal’s home and was also a victim, getting hit on the head and being taken off to the hospital. Isaac Scott is the detective who is known for his great instincts and who will do whatever it takes to solve the case. The rest of the story is about the neighbors of Willow Lane – Patty, the gossip of the street, and her husband Howard; Marta, Crystal’s best friend since college, and her husband Blake and all of their children. The mystery takes many twists and turns and Isaac suspects several though everyone is sure it must be Garrett, the mean, nasty husband. The story must be read to find out was it Garrett, Blake, one of the women or another Willow Street resident.

Secrets of Willow Lane by J.L. Anderson is a mystery but also a look into the lives of the people living on Willow Lane. I enjoyed reading Secrets of Willow Lane. I sometimes felt that it was more about the people living on Willow Lane than finding the murderer, but it all was building towards the revealing of the killer. J.L. Anderson’s characters were very real and the events were certainly believable. I loved the ending and had changed my mind several times on who was guilty before the killer was found. Secrets of Willow Lane is a winner!
