Princess Katherine of Barana knows that once the king arrives, her life will never be the same. She must put her faith in what her parents have emphasized to her for years: Katherine must marry to save the kingdom. They did not tell her about how not to fall in love with Lord Robin, a half-demon who is part of King Edward's court, but they did impress upon her how important being in King Edward's good graces is – and how finding an important ancient artifact can change everything. Princess Katherine has to become the newest bride in Jordan Elizabeth's Seventh Wife of the Demon King.

I enjoyed the quick pace of Princess Katherine's journey in Jordan Elizabeth's Seventh Wife of the Demon King. It wasn't quite a coming-of-age story but is a story of a young royal having to do what she could to save her kingdom from being overrun by demons. Her being the soulmate of a half-demon lord gave an interesting wrinkle to her plan without overtaking Katherine's journey. Katherine's reluctant acceptance of her purpose almost overshadows why she is fulfilling her purpose during her time in the castle. Her interactions with King Edward's other wives, though brief and usually in passing, harden her reliance on her parents' dream for their kingdom. She then uses this reliance as an excuse to deny her growing feelings for Lord Robin, although this does not last as long as she hoped.
